Board approves multiple temporary alcohol licenses for community events; asks for updated site plans

The Caroline County Board granted multi-event or one-day alcohol permits to several community organizations — Chesapeake Culinary Center (10 events), Greensboro Volunteer Fire Company (30 events, indoor only), Caroline County Chamber of Commerce, the Adult Daycare Foundation and Children's Exploration Organization — and required updated site plans or documentation in some cases.
At its Jan. 20 meeting the Caroline County Board of License Commissioners approved a series of temporary alcohol permits for community events and fundraisers, attaching administrative conditions in three cases.
The board approved a 10-event multiple-event license for the Chesapeake Culinary Center at 512 Franklin Street. Applicant Beth Brewster was asked to provide renewed alcohol-awareness certificates (they expire in March) and an updated site plan that shows the on-premise, locked storage location for alcohol now permitted after a recent legislative change allowing some multi-event holders to store alcohol on site between events.
The board also approved a 30-event multiple-event license for the Greensboro Volunteer Fire Company with a condition: the license covers only the indoor premise; outdoor tractor pulls, rodeos and other outdoor events continue to require separate, event-specific permits. The board asked for an updated interior drawing that shows the addition to the building and the storage area.
One‑day licenses were approved for the Caroline County Chamber of Commerce (member appreciation mixer, Feb. 26, 4–8 p.m.), Caroline County Adult Daycare Foundation (Shake Off Winter dinner and auction, March 6) and Children’s Exploration Organization (Basket of Cheer raffle at Goldsboro Volunteer Fire Company, March 29). The board confirmed standard safeguards — ID checks, wristbands, cash bar for beer and wine in the chamber event — and in the raffle case recorded the licensed-premise address as the organizer’s residence (921 Pine Drive) where the raffle baskets will be held until winners collect them offsite.
Board members noted that nonprofit applicants have generally complied with inspections and that changes to how multi-event holders may store alcohol require clear on-file diagrams. Applicants were told to submit updated plans and certificates to the board office to complete their files.
