The committee discussed using Bergey Hill (described as steep and largely undevelopable) as a transfer target to preserve recreational access. "It would automatically conserve it because, boy, do they enforce their conservation easement when they decide to," a committee member said.
Committee members pledged to research archived acquisition records to confirm how the original grant and property conveyance were documented; the staff member said she would follow up with the LWCF contact and expected further guidance from the federal office. The committee discussed trade-offs between keeping latitude for future city uses and transferring strict LWCF restrictions.
