Fluvanna County holds FY2027 budget public hearing; adoption scheduled for April 8

The Fluvanna County Board of Supervisors held a public hearing on April 1 on the FY2027 budget, capital improvement plan and proposed tax rate, as required by Virginia Code Section 15.2‑2504. Director of Finance Tori Melton opened the discussion to receive public input to allow adoption at the Board's April 8 meeting and to prepare for the June 5 tax billing cycle.
At the hearing two residents—Jeff Haislip and James Schoenster—offered brief comments: Haislip thanked the board for its support of his budget item, and Schoenster commented on the school and library budgets and the budget process. Chair Anthony P. O’Brien closed the hearing at 7:57 p.m.
The Board did not take additional action on the FY2027 budget at the April 1 meeting; the minutes record that final adoption is scheduled for April 8, 2026.
