Petoskey board approves $4.14 million in warrants, band purchases and curriculum change

The Public Schools of Petoskey Board of Education unanimously approved several financial and programmatic measures at its Feb. 17 regular meeting.
Board members voted 5-0 to approve warrants totaling $4,136,674.21 after a motion from Mark Ashley and a second from Beth Flynn. The board then approved a motion from Jenni Attie, seconded by Kathy Reed, to change the high school course catalog by replacing 10th-grade Honors English with AP Seminar beginning in the 2026–2027 school year.
The board approved two purchases for the band program: a $49,350.00 quote from Steve Weiss Music to buy band instruments (motion by Beth Flynn, seconded by Kathy Reed) and a $73,900.00 quote from Fletch’s to purchase a band truck (motion by Mark Ashley, seconded by Jenni Attie). Both motions passed 5-0.
The board also approved the 2025–26 Food Service Fund revised budget as presented (motion by Jenni Attie, seconded by Beth Flynn). The transcript records the approval but does not state the revised dollar amount.
