Granite Falls staff report routine utility, parks and police updates

Police Chief Tom Dalton asked for council input on staffing and reported that 911 call volume for traffic incidents was down year-over-year while officer-initiated calls were significantly higher than last year. The minutes record the chief raising the staffing update for council consideration rather than a staffing decision being made at the meeting.
City Manager Brent Kirk reported several operational and maintenance items: a battery problem at the Smoots lift station; planned installation next week of CCTV camera equipment at Frank Mason Park; repair of an access hatch on an abandoned water tank to prevent entry; a chlorine analyzer that was out of service but has been fixed; snow-plow clearing operations after recent snow; and a reported pothole at the Stanley and Granite intersection noted in the record.
