The Putnam County Personnel Committee voted Nov. 12 to pre-file a fund-transfer resolution to cover overtime in the Department of Social Services after officials reported increased caseloads.
Deputy Commissioner Nicholle McGuire said caseloads have risen and that five employees worked overtime on one recent night. She said staff plan to use funds from a vacant caseworker position to cover overtime costs while recruitment proceeds; she confirmed the position has been advertised and the department is interviewing candidates.
Chairman Jonke moved to pre-file the necessary resolution and Legislator Birmingham seconded; the committee approved the pre-filing.
