After an initial blind review by a committee including board members, assistant superintendent and district clerk, up to two juniors and two seniors will be advanced to interview panels that include board members, a teacher, a high‑school administrator and the outgoing senior ex‑officio member.
Board members said the change is intended to expand diverse student perspectives and allow continuity when one student rotates out, enabling mentorship between the junior and senior representatives. The revised policy will be circulated for first reading and appear on the May 18 agenda for a second reading if no changes are made.
