The Richland Dean Bossow board approved a series of grant and finance items at its April meeting, including a READY2 resolution needed by the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) to document district bonding and allow the district to receive a $500,000 Regional Opportunity Initiatives (ROI) grant toward a biomedical life‑sciences project.
Dr. Sanders told trustees the district has until 2028 to spend the ROI funds and that architects and administrators are working on planning for the biomedical project and related band facility expansion. The board approved the READY2 resolution by voice vote.
The board also approved a career‑coaching subaward presented by Jennifer Barrett that will reimburse the district for the salary and benefits of the high‑school career coach (Susan Harrington). Barrett said the reimbursement grant runs Jan. 1 through June 30, 2027, and the total subaward amount is $112,476. She noted the grant is reimbursement‑based: the district pays the salary and submits quarterly requests for reimbursement to ROI.
Treasurer Mister Durnell presented payroll and claims totals for March and late‑March/April payroll runs and vouchers, reporting gross wages and a grand total for the reporting period. Deputy Kate described steps staff are taking to move balances into Trust Indiana and noted recent SEEK/state reimbursements have brought in roughly $400,000 to support fund balances.
All motions passed by voice vote. Administrators said detailed contract documents and full award agreements will appear in subsequent board materials; the board asked for timelines and documentation for spending and reimbursements.
