The Marshall County Board recessed and convened the Judicial Ditch 19 Drainage Authority April 7 to consider a petition to modify an existing impoundment on JD 19. Roseau County Commissioner Daryl Wicklund and Roseau County Auditor Martie Monsrud participated via Zoom.
The Drainage Authority approved suggested edits to the petition record: strike the words "in and" under item 10 and replace the verbiage in item 19.D with language tying expenditures to fund availability and the operations and maintenance plan and memorandum of agreement. The motion to accept those edits was recorded Wicklund/Miller and carried 5-0.
After adjourning the JD 19 meeting, the board considered a citizen request from Terry Beich to clean County Ditch 20, Branch 3 in Agder Township (Sections 11 and 15). The board moved to investigate the request and determine what action can be taken.
A separate discussion addressed County Ditch 45 and the feasibility of securing funding for necessary work. The board did not authorize immediate cleaning work for Ditch 20 at the April 7 meeting; it approved an investigation into the request.
