Marshall County board asks architect to cover plumbing and wiring costs for sheriff’s office pressure washer; sheriff previews retirements

Sheriff Jason Boman told the Marshall County Board of Commissioners April 7 that a pressure washer installed in the Sheriff’s Office garage was not plumbed or wired for use as shown in the original plans for the jail addition. The issue was raised during a jail project update presented to the board by Sheriff Boman, Jail Administrator Mark Ellerbusch and Maintenance Supervisor Rodger Haugtvedt. The board did not vote to fund the plumbing or wiring at the meeting and instructed staff to seek reimbursement from the architect.
Boman also briefed the board on expected retirements within the Sheriff’s Department and described the department’s preparations to recruit and fill forthcoming vacancies.
No dollar estimate for the plumbing and wiring costs was provided in the meeting record, and no formal contract amendment was approved at the April 7 meeting. The board’s direction was limited to asking the architect to assume responsibility for the expense.
