Marshall County accepts low $2,495,861.18 bid from Agassiz Asphalt for CSAH 2 road work

The board adopted RESOLUTION 04-07-02 authorizing award of the contract contingent upon Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) approval from the Minnesota Department of Transportation EEO Office. The motion to accept Agassiz Asphalt’s bid was made by Commissioner Sharon Bring and seconded by Commissioner Gary Kiesow; the motion carried 4-0.
Bids received and read into the record included proposals from R.J. Zavoral and Sons, Knife River Materials, Mark Sand & Gravel, Hawkinson Construction, and Duininck, Inc.; Agassiz Asphalt submitted the low bid. The board did not discuss specific contractor selection criteria at length during the meeting; the contract award is subject to the DBE approval required by state oversight.
