Garrett County commissioners approve $2 million lease/purchase for MEDCO building and appoint two to Commission for Women

The Board of Garrett County Commissioners on Nov. 4 unanimously approved a Lease/Purchase Agreement with Stash Properties, LLC for the MEDCO Building in the McHenry Business Park for Two Million Dollars ($2,000,000.00) and appointed two county commissioner representatives to the Garrett County Commission for Women.
The board approved the lease/purchase via Resolution 2024‑15 after a motion by Commissioner S. Larry Tichnell, seconded by Commissioner Ryan S. Savage, and made unanimous by Chairman Paul C. Edwards. The minutes record that the company anticipates creating 50–60 new jobs at the McHenry site. The Lease/Purchase Agreement was described in the record as attached to the agenda materials.
Separately, the board appointed M. Elizabeth Georg to fill the unexpired term of Melita Friend and Alyssa Tichinel to fill the unexpired term of Erin‑Ruth Natividad as county commissioner representatives to the Garrett County Commission for Women. The minutes state an official letter will be sent to each appointee under the signature of Chairman Paul C. Edwards outlining the terms of the appointments.
