Connell OKs $20,000 task order with Anderson & Perry for on-call engineering

Connell City council approved a task order authorizing Anderson & Perry to provide on-call engineering services up to $20,000, city staff said.
Tyson explained the purpose: the task order lets the city call on the firm for quick-response work—small projects, emergency repairs, grant writing or brief design tweaks—without running a separate RFQ for each assignment. "A general task order is a fund that we would be providing our engineers that we can utilize anytime we want for smaller projects, emergency projects, faster response time," Tyson said.
Tyson said the $20,000 is a not-to-exceed authorization and is not paid up front; the city only pays for work as performed. Council members clarified that larger projects would come back to the council for separate approval and that the task order would remain available during the term of their engineering contract.
The council moved, seconded and approved the task order. Staff said the authorization will help the city respond more quickly to unexpected infrastructure needs, GIS updates and short-deadline grant work.
