The Southern Columbia Area SD Board of Directors voted to approve the SEA collective bargaining agreement for the 2026–2032 term at its April meeting, following reports from the negotiations and personnel committee that described a cooperative and efficient bargaining process.
The motion to approve the agreement was made by Kendall and seconded by Cindy. Committee members praised the association for productive engagement: "This was two meetings. It was painless," one committee member said, and Board Chair (Chair) and other members thanked the negotiating team for collaborative work. A roll‑call vote was held and the motion carried. Meeting notes show the board recording the motion as carried.
Board reports indicated the negotiations were smoother than some recent comparator districts and that the personnel committee will continue work on other contracts, including a forthcoming nonunion support group agreement. The committee also discussed Act 93 meet‑and‑discuss work and said it expects to bring a separate personnel contract to the board in May.
The board’s approval delegates implementation to the administration and the district’s business office to effect contract provisions and any associated payroll adjustments. The board scheduled continued personnel work and an executive session on contract negotiations after the public meeting.
