Pasadena ISD holds required public hearing on 2023–24 annual performance report

The Pasadena Independent School District Board of Trustees held a public hearing Feb. 25 to receive the district’s 2023–24 annual performance report, fulfilling the requirement of Texas Education Code §39.362. Donna Summers, executive director of program support and achievement, led the presentation and pointed trustees to the district website for the full report and related PDFs.
“For the class of 2023, all of our student groups, including special education and emergent bilinguals, achieved at least 80% college and career military readiness,” Summers said, a gain she described as nearly a 20-point increase over two years. Summers also reported that kindergarten readiness rose 7.5 percentage points to 63.6% districtwide and to 73.4% for students who attended pre-K for at least 80 days.
Summers noted the state did not issue accountability ratings in 2023 or 2024 and explained that the district’s annual performance report compiles TAPR components, financial actuals and campus improvement documents. She told trustees the district’s communication team is migrating older materials to a new website and that the set of reports is maintained online for three years, with older reports available on request.
Trustees asked procedural questions about how long the reports must remain available; Summers said the posting requirement is three years but that staff can provide earlier reports on request while the website transition continues.
No formal action was required after the hearing; the board adjourned to closed session and reconvened later that evening to continue other agenda business.
