Brainerd council schedules public hearing on 2026 budget for Dec. 8

The Brainerd City Council voted Sept. 29 to set a public hearing on the 2026 budget for Dec. 8 at 6:00 p.m. in Council Chambers.
Connie told the council that the hearing date must be included in the materials the city files with the county and therefore must be set before Sept. 30. Council member Johnson moved to set the date; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
The hearing will be the formal opportunity for public comment on the final 2026 budget and levy before the council's December meeting.
