Beaverton council adopts tax collection agreement, forms Ross Lake board, approves deficit plan and MDOT resolution; accepts audit and appointments

The Beaverton City Council on Jan. 12 unanimously adopted a slate of resolutions and consent items, including a 2026 tax-collection agreement for Beaverton Schools and formation of a Ross Lake Improvement Board.
Jennifer Harper moved to approve Resolution 2026-1, the Beaverton Schools Tax Collection Agreement for 2026; Christine Gerace seconded and the measure was adopted by roll call with all members voting aye. Colleen Reader moved to approve Resolution 2026-2 to form the Ross Lake Improvement Board; Christine Gerace seconded and the council adopted the resolution by unanimous roll call.
The council also approved Resolution 2026-3, a Deficit Elimination Plan, and Resolution 2026-4, an MDOT Performance Resolution for Municipalities. Both were moved by Jennifer Harper and seconded by Tiffany Burgess; each resolution passed on unanimous roll-call votes.
In consent-business actions the council accepted the FY25 City Financial Single Audit Report, approved DDA board appointments and authorized an upgrade to City Hall Honor Security System monitoring. Those motions were moved and seconded as noted in the meeting minutes and each carried with all voting aye.
The meeting record lists five councilmembers present for votes: Colleen Reader, Missy Vulders, Jennifer Harper, Christine Gerace and Tiffany Burgess; one member (Nellie List) was absent. There were no recorded dissenting votes on any of the listed motions.
