Beaverton council hears infrastructure and departmental reports; water meter replacements planned

Pat Stanley of the Department of Public Works reported that the water tower was temporarily operating on wells because of a broken part; staff expected the part to be repaired the following day. The EGLE-funded water system improvements project’s monthly report called for water meter replacements scheduled for mid-April.
Beaverton Chief Davis reported a grant award from the Gladwin Community Foundation for an ice rink and noted a request for skate donations; the park restroom project is approaching completion. City Manager Shannon Sirpilla said a submitted grant included $45,000 earmarked for Campbell Street base repairs and staff are seeking secure quotes. Matt Lang, director of downtown and community development, submitted a written report. Reverend Karen Blatt was cited in the library use report noting increased program attendance and an upcoming book sale on May 14.
