Upshur County Schools board approves levy schedule after state sign-off

The Upshur County Schools board approved a schedule of proposed levy rates for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2027, after the State Superintendent of Schools and state officials had already approved the rates, a board representative said during a special meeting that began at 10:00 a.m.

The board moved the levy item to the front of the agenda because of scheduling conflicts with a graduation ceremony and then took up the financial item. "We have already received approval from the State Superintendent of Schools and the state that our levy rates are approved as presented," the board representative said, asking the local board to formally approve the schedule as presented.
