Cullman City Council adopts three ordinances and several resolutions, approves sewer change orders

The council approved second readings and adopted Ordinance 26‑33 to rezone property at 701 Main Avenue Southwest (owner: Rodney Hawkins) from R‑4 Residential to B‑2 Business; Ordinance 26‑36 to annex property owned by Joseph and William Culpepper on County Road 1269 into the city as AG‑1 Agriculture; and Ordinance 26‑37 to rezone property at 960 County Road 1269 (William and Jenna Culpepper) to R‑1 Residential. Each ordinance passed after a roll‑call motion to adopt was made and the president announced the motion carried.
On new business the council adopted Resolution 26‑84, the city's annual municipal water pollution prevention resolution to continue the strategic plan for the treatment plant and ongoing initiatives.
Council also approved Resolution 26‑85 to accept change orders #1 and #2 for Pock Works Plus Inc. on the Man Subbasin Sewer Rehabilitation Project. The change orders increase the project cost by $2,060,250. Council member Paul Schaffer moved the measure and the council adopted the resolution by voice vote. The change orders were presented as adjustments to the ongoing rehabilitation project; the council did not debate alternate funding sources during the meeting.
The council awarded Resolution 26‑86 to procure one or more crew cab 4‑wheel‑drive trucks for the fire department to Long Lewis Automotive Group for the low bid amount reported in the meeting ($50,170.70) and approved the award.
