Council approves Tokens LLC filming in Fountain Green with conditions on permits and traffic control

Representatives from Tokens LLC asked the Fountain Green council for permission to film an independent feature, Tokens, at several municipal locations including the cemetery, the dance hall and a downtown stretch of highway. The production team said the shoot would be rain-or-shine, requested brief, temporary road closures for shots and presented an insurance certificate and a seven-page indemnity packet.

"This is a 1940s piece," the production representative said while outlining the sites they hoped to use and the need to temporarily reroute traffic for short takes. The crew proposed closures of specific blocks for no more than a few hours at a time and said they would provide traffic-control plans and a TTP (traffic control plan) from a certified contractor.

Council members probed whether the production had the necessary insurance and whether the city’s sheriff or UDOT would need to approve state-highway closures. Tokens LLC said it carried coverage (noted in their packet) and offered to add the city as an additional insured. The council conditioned approval on the production obtaining the proper permits, confirming insurance naming the city as an additional insured and coordinating final road-closure details with the sheriff’s office and UDOT.

The council moved and approved the permit with that friendly amendment: Tokens LLC may film in Fountain Green on the proposed dates so long as they secure the permits for any state-highway closure, coordinate with the local sheriff for traffic control and provide the city with required insurance documentation.
