Town staff reported on April 20 that the sewer-plant startup and transfer will begin Wednesday morning at 7 a.m. and that crews will work extended hours during the cutover.
The utilities lead said the work is designed to meet a June completion target so Lake Placid can secure reimbursement from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. The mayor and council praised the progress and said they will plan a ribbon-cutting once the plant is fully operational.
Staff asked council to be available for support as needed during the cutover and said they will report back with a status update and any issues encountered during commissioning.
