Mayor Tibbs outlines airport grant pursuit, demolition grant work and multiple business leads

Mayor Jack B. Tibbs, Jr. briefed the Eufaula City Council on a range of economic-development and capital projects during the Feb. 3 meeting.
Tibbs listed items under active attention: a letter of intent for an airport terminal grant; activity on a new purchaser for the Reeves Farm project; work with Survival Flight and potential engagement with American EV, Ellianos Coffee, ALMAC and Jang Automation Company; plans for demolition of the Old Chewalla Hotel; and a demolition grant covering 49 residential properties and one non-residential property in Phase III.
The mayor also noted a letter from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers regarding properties available for lease and said Parks and Recreation received an award for Kayak Eufaula as the 2025 Innovative Program of the Year. The council did not vote on these items; the report was informational and part of the mayor’s regular project update.
