Eufaula City Council extends moratoriums on certain retailers, designates blighted properties and approves library repairs

The Eufaula City Council on Tuesday approved several measures affecting business licensing, historic-property repairs and neighborhood blight.
President Wes Register read and the council adopted Resolution 5-2026, which reaffirms and extends the council’s prior moratoriums (Resolution 120-25) on (1) small-box retail stores, (2) flea market and consignment shops whose activity includes selling white goods, and (3) vape or CBD shops and similar enterprises. The moratoriums were extended for six months, through July 31, 2026; President Pro Tem Otis Hill moved to approve and Councilman Marvin Brown seconded, and President Register announced adoption by voice vote.
