Council briefs: Keswick Park award, new arts master plan and stormwater wetland retrofit grant

Public arts manager Tanisha Jones asked council to approve beginning work on a new arts master plan with Designing Local, the firm that produced the city's 2019 plan; she requested mayoral signature on a contract not to exceed $55,000 and confirmed the process will include public-input sessions.
On stormwater, Public Works Director Todd Hill described a proposed wetland retrofit along the rail trail at Peachtree Industrial Boulevard and said the project is under design by Kimley-Horn with an estimated construction cost of about $350,000. Hill said the city plans to apply for a Section 3-19H nonpoint source implementation grant (the GRAMA program) that would cover about $210,000 (60%) with a $140,000 local match. He noted Amanda Howard will manage grant administration based on prior experience with similar grants.
What happens next: staff will proceed to finalize contract documents for the Keswick Park award and the arts plan and will submit the stormwater grant application ahead of the April 30 deadline; contract awards and grant approvals will return to council for formal action as required.
