Chamblee staff present Q4 2025 and Q1 2026 budget amendments; $550,000 reclassified to ARPA fund

"There is no overall increase to the budget and no impact to fund balance," Piro said, explaining the reclassification of $550,000 in general-fund site-improvement costs for the real-time crime center into an ARPA state grant fund to reflect the grant structure and expected reimbursement.
Budget Strategy Manager Daria Criscos then summarized the Q1 2026 amendment: a $116,300 transfer from the downtown special services district to the general fund to support personnel for downtown maintenance, and a $100,000 transfer from the stormwater enterprise fund to the Public Facilities Authority (PFA) fund to mirror a change previously approved by the PFA.
Council asked clarifying questions; staff said the transfers do not change the intended use of funds and are recommended per auditor guidance to align accounting entries.
What happens next: the amendments were presented in the work session and will proceed through the normal approval process during upcoming council action items.
