Washington County Fair will run April 10–18; organizers ask Rockville to provide a community display

Ruffin Judd, a member of the Washington County Fair board, and Susie Laffielli, identified in the presentation as the county fair director, presented the fair’s plans and solicited Rockville’s participation.
"This year, we are April 10 through the eighteenth. We're just 30 days away from opening night of the Washington County Fair," Susie Laffielli said, noting the fair has grown since moving from August to April and now spans eight days. Laffielli said the fair expects roughly 60,000 attendees and that the number increased after the schedule change.
Ruffin Judd encouraged Rockville to take a 10-by-10 display space to showcase the town’s history and community programs and said the fair is waiving general admission this year, although ticketed events will still require payment. The presentation highlighted expanded programming (three stages, two-night rodeo, demolition derby and multiple concerts) and local economic and scholarship payouts: the fair paid out nearly $16,000 to local exhibitors last year and distributed more than $62,000 to local scholarships and awards.
Organizers asked the council for feedback and local assistance in staffing or building a display; they offered to work with a designated Rockville contact to ensure the exhibit reflects the community. Council members thanked the presenters and indicated they would follow up.
