Hurricane Valley Fire reports rising call volume; Springdale logged 22 calls in past month

Captain Randall Day, captain at Station 49, briefed the Rockville Town Council on March 11 about a recent uptick in calls to the Hurricane Valley Fire Special Service District.
"Things in the district are going very well," Randall Day said, and then outlined recent call counts: "Springdale, we had 22 calls. We had 4 here in Rockville and 0 in Zion that were reported." Day introduced permanent fire fighters Jim Hammond and Ryan Hood and invited questions; none were raised.
Day told the council that warmer weather and increased outdoor activity are driving the higher call volume. He described the district response as stable and said he would answer additional questions as needed.
The council did not take action on the report; the presentation was provided for information.
