The Addison City Council on Dec. 9 conducted nominations and votes to fill expiring seats on the Planning & Zoning Commission and the Board of Zoning Adjustment, with terms commencing in January 2026.
City Secretary Valencia Garcia explained the application process and the deadline for submissions. Council members each made individual motions for their nominating places and the full council voted on each appointment.
Nominations and outcomes: Dave Collins was appointed to Place 4 on the Planning & Zoning Commission; Jimmy Barker was reappointed to Place 5; Ed Copeland was reappointed to Place 6; and Chelsea Smith was reappointed to Place 7. For the Board of Zoning Adjustment, the council appointed Elizabeth Jones (Place 4), reappointed Mike O'Neil (Place 5), appointed Scott Hunt (Place 6) and reappointed Sheila Wooldridge (Place 7). Each motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
What this means: the council followed its standard nomination procedure (individual nominating council members present motions for their respective seats) and confirmed a mix of reappointments and new appointees to both citizen advisory boards.
