At its April 7, 2026 regular meeting, the Piedmont City Council approved payment of $863,912.08 in outstanding bills, reappointed Nathan Johnson as police chief and Todd Kirkland as fire chief, and voted to hire A & W to mow city parks and the area around the museum and the Robert’s house for $1,900 per month.
The actions came early in the agenda as part of routine business. Mark Epps moved to approve the March 17 minutes; Frank Cobb seconded and the motion carried. The council then considered the bills totaling $863,912.08; Carlos Farmer moved their payment, Kevin McCord seconded, and the council approved payment as presented.
On personnel matters, Mark Epps moved to reappoint Nathan Johnson as Police Chief and Todd Kirkland as Fire Chief. Frank Cobb seconded the motion and the council voted in favor of both reappointments.
