Resident criticizes replat steps as commissioners approve several subdivision items

During the public-comment period, Mario Davy spoke about the burden of the county’s subdivision replat process after spending roughly $6,000 to replat a two-acre parcel off a 32-acre tract. He said utilities, septic and 911 addressing were already in place and asked the court to consider simplifying the procedure for small, established lots.
Commissioners then handled multiple land-use items. They approved an amended plat (Albright addition) that slightly adjusted acreage between two adjacent tracts owned by the same owner, granted a 30-day extension for the Edgewood Acres plat while staff continue to secure a required water letter, and approved the Baby Addition subdivision (1.54-acre lot) for Precinct 3 after the presenter said all requirements had been met.
The court approved the motions by voice votes. Commissioners and staff discussed state subdivision law and county rules allowing minor boundary adjustments when owners agree; staff noted outstanding water letters are the primary reason for extensions.
