Highland board confirms new principals, accepts retirements and resignations

The School Town of Highland board approved a slate of personnel actions at its March 17 meeting, confirming two principal appointments and accepting a number of retirements and resignations.
The board approved the appointment of Travis Anderson as high school principal effective July 1, 2026, and Kimberly Hayes as principal at Southridge Elementary effective the same date. Anderson summarized his background in education and said he is a "student advocate" who intends to collaborate with staff and the community. Hayes thanked trustees and said she looked forward to joining the district.
Separately, the board accepted retirements and resignations including Amy Wilhite (retirement, teacher at Bridal School, effective 05/28/2026), Thomas Glover (retirement, custodian, effective 09/11/2026), Matt Topp (retirement, custodial foreman, effective 07/17/2026), Linda Hodchnicki (retirement, secretary, effective 07/27/2026), Barbara Whiting (resignation, effective 05/28/2026) and Courtney Condis (resignation, team leader at the middle school, effective 05/28/2026). Trustees thanked outgoing staff for long service.
The board also approved several volunteer and staffing items for extracurriculars and professional-leave requests for staff attending trainings.
