“Plaid Crafts... committed to donating a 100 art kits,” Tanisha said. She also reported that SIFA (a local arts nonprofit) will collect and donate yarn, fibers and tools for an Art Supply Swap tied to Art Drop week.
Tanisha asked for volunteers to staff events, especially Spanish‑speaking helpers and high‑school students for setup and swap operations. Commissioners suggested partnering with community organizations such as Scraplanta/Scraplana and a Doraville metalworking guild to provide Skillshare instructors and workshop leaders.
Commissioners discussed using a mix of hashtags and direct Instagram mentions (Chamblee Public Arts account) to collect imagery during the event and considered adding a commission admin to the city's social media scheduler to simplify posting.
Staff confirmed the Art Drop week start date as the weekend of the 18th and said volunteers and logistics will be finalized as the event approaches.
