Senate receives conference committee reports on multimodal transfers, marijuana tax distribution, judicial ombudsman repeal and Medicaid recovery

The Clerk read a string of conference committee reports on several House bills.

On House Bill 1399, the first report of the first conference committee recommends amendments to the revised bill concerning elimination of the annual transfer from the General Fund to the Multimodal Transportation and Mitigation Options Fund and related appropriations; the report lists the appointed conference committee members from both houses. On House Bill 1405, the report amends the revised bill dealing with transfers from certain cash funds to the General Fund and lists agreed changes. The conference committee on House Bill 1380 reported adoption of the re-engrossed bill concerning repeal of the Office of the Judicial Discipline Ombudsman, recommending adoption without change. The committee on House Bill 1409 reported the Senate recedes from its amendments and that the re-engrossed bill be adopted without change; that measure concerns distribution of money collected from the retail marijuana sales tax. Finally, the conference committee on House Bill 1412 reported agreement on amendments and substitution language related to authorizing the Department of Health Care Policy and Financing to use statistical sampling and extrapolation to recover Medicaid overpayments to providers.
