The Carter County Board of Commissioners voted to authorize Mayor Patty Woodby to apply for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding aimed at addressing food insecurity in the county. Attorney Joshua Hardin explained the resolution during the meeting; the motion was made by Commissioner Aaron Frazier and seconded by Commissioner Danny Deal.
The electronic roll call recorded 20 yes votes and one abstention (Angie Odom); the motion carried. The resolution is recorded on meeting pages 230–231.
Commissioners noted the resolution simply authorizes the mayor to make and sign the application; it does not itself appropriate funds. Any subsequent grant award and acceptance would come back to the commission for required actions.
