The commission's liaison reported that two new signs were installed the day before the Jan. 22 meeting, but staff noticed flaking on the sign at the yellow sculpture on Peachtree Road and will contact the sign vendor to inspect and repair if necessary.
"So the last 2 signs were installed yesterday," the liaison said, adding that she would check all other signs for similar issues and follow up with the sign company about the flaking at the Peachtree Road location.
The liaison also reported that a small community 'free little art gallery' is complete and "the Eagle Scout has gotten all of his reporting and confirmation and all that kind of stuff so he can move forward." She said the installation is heavily used by residents.
On recent events, the liaison described the Massey sculpture unveiling at the Dresden Park ribbon cutting, saying the weather was good and the unveiling went smoothly. She noted a pageant winner and her team attended the unveiling, adding to the turnout.
The liaison closed by saying she will contact the sign vendor and inspect other signs for similar flaking.
