Florence Council selects Langford to help apply for CDBG mitigation grant

The Florence City Council on Dec. 2 approved RESOLUTION 2025-25 to select Langford Community Management Services as the professional service provider to assist the city in applying to the Texas General Land Office’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Mitigation—Resilient Communities program.
Mary Condon moved to approve the resolution and Mary Jane Swope seconded the motion; the council voted unanimously with no opposition. The resolution authorizes staff to engage Langford to facilitate the application process for the CDBG-Mitigation Resilient Communities program administered by the GLO.
Council did not record in the minutes any debate over selection criteria or alternate providers; the minutes record only the motion and the unanimous vote. Any grant application will follow the city’s procurement and grant-administration policies previously approved by the council.
Staff will next work with Langford on application materials and timelines; additional council action may be required to accept funds, approve contracts, or authorize matching or local commitments if the grant award is made.
