The police representative told the committee the department has “hired over 40 new officers this year,” and that rising supplier prices also drove the request.
Finally, the board approved a statewide contract (260761) with Atlanta Soundworks LLC for audio-visual equipment and related services for the Malouf Annex Auditorium, not to exceed $1,000,000. Facilities staff said the project budget includes a $254,761.17 owner contingency to ensure the auditorium’s integrated broadcast system functions for commission meetings and public events. Project manager Rodney Reese said the current schedule points to a November timeframe to return to the Malouf, while noting the schedule will be refined.
