Dale County Commission approves amended FY26 transportation plan and two mowing tractors

Commissioners also approved surplus declarations for four assets (asset nos. 2495, 2498, 2503 and 2459) and the purchase of two mowing tractors. County Engineer Matt Murphy provided supporting material (Exhibit 2 and vendor quote) showing a unit price of $93,249.00 per tractor under the State contract and a two-unit total of $186,498.00. The motion to surplus and to purchase was moved by Commissioner Carroll and seconded by Commissioner Grantham; the vote was unanimous among the three commissioners in attendance.
The transportation-plan materials enumerate resurfacing projects (various county roads), per-project estimated costs and funding sources. The plan lists beginning balances and estimated annual revenue streams used to support county road work. The commission did not record additional debate in the minutes; the minutes show formal approval on the motion.
Next steps: the approved amended plan becomes the county's guiding list for FY26 road projects; specific project scheduling and procurement will follow county procurement rules and available funding. The surplus assets were approved for sale (to be handled via GovDeals.com as noted in the surplus request), and purchase orders will proceed following standard procurement and budget processes.
