During the opening of the Planning and Zoning Commission work session, Leslie, a planning staff member, told commissioners that the Unified Development Code zoning map was approved by City Council earlier in the month and that the UDC will take effect on Sept. 1.
Leslie also notified commissioners of scheduling conflicts with the typical first‑Tuesday meeting pattern in November — Veterans Day and proximity to Thanksgiving — and said staff expects to send a survey to determine whether to reschedule or cancel the Nov. 18 meeting. Materials for the comprehensive plan update (Addison 2050) were also delayed by approximately two months; staff said the plan review will be posted to OneDrive and discussed at the Sept. 16 meeting.
No formal actions were taken during the work session on these scheduling or code‑adoption items; staff said commissioners would be informed by email when decisions about the November meeting are finalized.
