Franklin County Commission approves midyear budget amendments, road updates and appointments in unanimous session

The Franklin County Commission cleared a broad consent-style agenda on Feb. 18 that included budget amendments, school-board funding adjustments, additions to the county road lists, numerous board appointments and notary approvals.

Key outcomes included adoption of several school-board budget amendments (Resolutions 2a–2c), a mult–fund general budget amendment covering General, Library, Solid Waste, Drug Control and Debt Service funds (Resolution 2d), and a series of road-list additions and corrections (Resolutions 2i–2n). All passed unanimously by the roll-call votes recorded in the meeting minutes.

The commission also combined and approved routine reports from the trustees, local option sales tax filings and finance and legislative committee minutes, accepted the finance director’s December 2024 and second-quarter reports, and approved an inter-category amendment covering October–December 2024. Committee minutes submitted to the commission were accepted without modification.

Appointments and reappointments were handled in a single slate: Industrial Development Board appointment of Mike Gray; reappointment of Dr. Cary Holman as Franklin County Director of Schools; reappointments to the Board of Health (physicians and other clinical appointees); reappointments to the Health/Education Facilities Board and Consolidated Communications Board; and other board placements shown in the minutes. The commission also approved lists of notary-public appointments referenced in the packet.

Motions were short and procedural throughout the session; the meeting adjourned shortly after 6:15 p.m. All recorded roll-call votes on listed consent items were 13 in favor, none opposed, with three members listed as absent.
