The Garrett County Board of Commissioners announced proposed changes to the county Off-Road Vehicle Ordinance and set a public hearing for Monday, May 1, 2023. The proposed amendment would conform county rules to recent state law changes by allowing an ATV, snowmobile or off-road motorcycle to travel up to five miles on a county road (the current ordinance allows up to two miles) and by defining and allowing off-road motorcycles.
Chairman Paul C. Edwards told the Board the proposed ordinance change aligns county rules with the state and that a public hearing will be held on May 1 at the Garrett County Courthouse. The Board also announced a constant yield hearing and that budget presentations by the Garrett County Chamber of Commerce and Garrett College will be held directly following the public meeting on May 1.
