City staff reviewed the site plan and recommended approval, noting the tent would occupy 18 parking spaces and meet setback and safety distances: staff cited the closest fire hydrant as about 70 feet away and the closest fuel source at roughly 343 feet. Staff reminded the board that the applicant must obtain tent and electrical permits, post the city and state fireworks ordinances at the tent, provide required flame-resistance certification, and remove temporary facilities and trash after the selling season.
Chair Young opened the public hearing; no members of the public spoke. A motion to approve the application subject to staff comments was moved and seconded. The roll call recorded five ayes and the Board approved Z26009.
Staff reiterated that BZA approval is an initial authorization and that building and codes staff will follow up with the required permits and inspections before operation. The applicant agreed to comply with staff conditions, including removal of trash by July 10 after the summer sales period and by January 7 after the winter sales period.
