At its April 2 meeting the Laurel Park-Tree Board approved a TIF District–engineered underpass cleanup project for the north underpass and recorded several facility updates and events.
Committee member Irv Wilke moved to approve the underpass cleanup project; Joe Holzwarth seconded the motion and it was approved by the board, according to the minutes. The TIF District has hired an engineer to address cleanup on both sides of the underpass on the north side of town.
Board members reported Riverside Hall/Lions Club building renovations are complete; a ribbon-cutting is scheduled for April 15 at 10:00 a.m. The minutes state the City will pay the Lions $10,000 as one-half of the project cost. No further action on the payment was recorded in the minutes.
Riverside Park campground staffing was also discussed: the minutes list that Manager Jeff will start April 6 and will train the new Parks Maintenance Leader. Discussion of the Billie Riddle Splash Park restroom project was tabled until the city hires a new engineer. The board also discussed a possible new park on West 12th Street; member Matt will check on a sprinkler.
The Laurel Rod and Gun Club is considering championing its club building; the minutes note the group has invested in the building but do not record action.
