Mathis highlighted German state-level curriculum alignment, employer-supported apprenticeship pathways and equity-focused programs, and said a delegation of seven German education leaders visited North Hills on April 13, 2026. "We can learn from others while building on what we do," Mathis said, and noted discussions about a possible future student exchange for German-language students.
Student representative Faith reviewed end-of-year events including Arts Alive (May 1), Kicking It for Kids (May 9), the recent blood drive and National Honor Society inductions. The board also received athletic updates and a drama-club showcase scheduled for April 24.
On routine business the board moved to approve minutes of prior committee and legislative meetings and accepted consent agenda items 1–10 and personnel items 1–5 (personnel had been discussed in executive session). During the consent vote one board member announced an abstention on a specified check (check 82220 under general fund bills); otherwise the motions carried.
No new policy decisions were made at the meeting. The board set its next meeting for April 30, 2026, at North Hills Middle School and adjourned.
