SAGINAW — The Saginaw County Board of Commissioners on March 17 approved amendments to its board rules that restructure committee assignments and adjust vote language for committee motions.
Chair Jack B. Tany brought unfinished business forward after the Rules Committee had tabled amendments at a previous meeting. Commissioners voted to approve changes that consolidate Human Services into County Services and merge Budget/Audit with Labor Relations into a single Finance & Human Resources standing committee. The amended rules add an “Administrator Remarks” agenda line and replace numerical quorum references with the phrasing “majority of the members present” for committee motions.
Commissioners discussed specific changes to Section 4.8 and Section 4.9 before voting. The Rules Committee’s report describing other technical edits and renumbering was entered into the record. The motion to approve the amended rules carried at the March session.
