Board approves Driver’s Ed, denies full remote option for 2021–22 and keeps calendar unchanged

At its April 26 meeting the Medford Area Public School District Board approved Driver’s Education to be offered through Crabbman’s Driver Education as in prior years (motion by Brian Hallgren, second by Steve Deml). The board also voted 8–1 (motion Hallgren/Dixon) that the district will not offer remote learning in 2021–22 in the same format as the current year; students interested in virtual instruction were directed to apply to RVA.
The district recorded no discussion on the proposed 2021–22 school calendar and left the calendar as presented. Board members agreed to choose a June date for a board retreat at which the school attorney will attend to discuss school laws and board duties.
Laura Lundy presented the Curriculum Connection 'One Book, One School' program; the transcript records the presentation but no formal motion or vote on the program during the meeting.
The meeting then adjourned to closed session under Wis. Stat. §19.85(1)(b) for a personnel matter.
