Bend MPO adds $32,000 transit project to MTIP; board approves amendment unanimously

Kelly, speaking for MPO staff, presented a proposed MTIP amendment to add a new project funded from STBG formula gap funding to be delivered by Cascades East Transit.
Kelly explained the amendment creates a discrete MTIP project by splitting funds from two existing STIP bucket projects so they appear in the MPO’s MTIP for the appropriate federal fiscal year. She said the project total was about $32,000 and staff received no public comments during the required comment period.
Bob Townsend explained that these kinds of adjustments occur regularly when formula distributions are reconciled and described the STBG formula adjustment as a routine transfer to reflect federal fiscal year timing. "They underpaid us 32,000, so they just take it from another bucket that they already had," Townsend said.
A policy board member moved approval and another seconded. The board voted to approve the MTIP amendment unanimously.
