Morrow County commissioners approve 2026 road maintenance contracts

Morrow County commissioners voted to award the county’s 2026 chip-seal contract to Melway Canadian Company and to approve the county’s 2026 paving contract during their regular Wednesday session.

The Clerk introduced the chip-seal award and the paving award; both motions were moved and seconded and approved on roll call. The meeting record shows commissioners answering in the affirmative when their names were called during both votes.

The session also included approval of routine county bills and payments. The Clerk noted payments from Chesterville, Cameron, an out-of-state vendor in Ohio and a coroner’s pathology payment were included in the bills presented for approval.

The awards were presented as routine procurement items and carried without extended debate. Commissioners also discussed a transfer of funds for the board (listed in the agenda materials) and minor budget adjustments tied to higher-than-expected liability insurance costs.

The commissioners did not indicate any appeals or protests from vendors during the meeting. The clerk said procurement documents and vendor quotes will be handled administratively and returned for the chair’s signature where required.
