Autauga County approves surplus sale and destruction of sheriff equipment, including vehicles, firearms and Tasers

The Autauga County Commission on April 7 approved multiple actions to remove older sheriff assets from county inventory. As part of the consent docket commissioners authorized surplus sale of Sheriff Unit #645 (2015 Chevrolet Tahoe, VIN 1GNLC2EC3FR674822) and Unit #693 (2017 Chevrolet Silverado, VIN 3GCUKRECXHG232826) on GovDeals. The motion to surplus and sell those units was carried unanimously.
The commission also approved trade‑in of an extensive list of Glock pistols (serial numbers enumerated in the minutes) and approved destruction of specified Tasers (model X26 series), multiple ballistic vests (various manufacturers and serial numbers), plates and helmets, and certain electronic items. Serial numbers and models for each item are recorded in the minutes. These disposals and destructions were authorized under the consent docket and carried by unanimous vote of the commission.
Motions were made and seconded as part of the consent docket approvals (mover: Rusty Jacksland; seconder: Bill Tatum). The minutes do not record additional discussion or conditions tied to the disposals, including transfer of any proceeds from sales or the process for certifying destruction. County staff will administer the surplus sales and the destruction process per county policy.
